AMONG US, directed by Marco van Geffen, has been selected for the 64th edition of the Locarno Film Festival. The film will have its world premiere at the festival and is part of the Concorso Internazionale, Locarno’s main competition.
AMONG US is about Ewa, a silent and sensitive Polish au-pair in a small town in the Netherlands. When a rape takes place, Ewa believes she knows the identity of the assailant.
Marco van Geffen is a director, screenwriter and script editor. He wrote, among others, the screenplay for the comedy SCHNITZEL PARADISE, directed by Martin Koolhoven. As a director Van Geffen has made the short films MY SISTER (2006) and HOLI (2006). AMONG US is his first feature film and is the first part of a trilogy titled VINEX: THE DRAMA OF THE HAPPY FAMILY.
AMONG US is a Lemming Film production. Distributor Cinéart will release the film in Dutch cinemas in November.
The 64th edition of the Locarno Film Festival takes place August 3 – 13.
